It's Going To Be A ??????

So we had our ultrasound this morning. I was stressed because we were running late getting there, traffic was horrible. And also because they made me drink two big glasses of water right before and I was dying to use the bathroom and wasn't allowed.

The baby is healthy and growing at a good rate. Right now the baby weighs 11 ounces. You would think from the size of my belly that the baby would be bigger, but nope.


First shot......profile. Look at the baby just chilling with the fist up and legs kicked back.


Second shot.......and verdict is in.......it's a Boy!!!!! (I still don't know how they could tell)


Yeah we are going to have a little boy. Braydon Michael Hughes! He got annoyed at the end of the ultrasound and put his hands over his face, basically telling us "I've had enough let me rest". We also got to see him suck his thumb. It's just too cute and so amazing.

First Flutter

All the books tell you that you'll start to feel the baby move around week 18. I thought that was crazy since the baby is still so small. Well that has all changed now!

My little child has to be preparing to be a Ninja. I feel little chops on the right and then on the left. The baby also doesn't like when I stand up too quickly. I get kicked in the side to let me know he or she doesn't want me to be standing. Only five more months to go and then I'll get to have the little ninja in my arms.

Baby Hughes

Yesterday was my first offical Dr. visit. They did the first ultrasound and showed me my first pictures of our baby.

They measured the head of the baby and determined that I am right on track with giving birth on May 1st. Actually they estimate my due date of April 28th but we want to keep the May 1st date, since April 28th is our wedding anniversary.

Now it really makes it seem real to me. As if the morning sickness and the growing belly weren't any indication!!!

12 week update

Well our first offical Doctor visit is this coming Wednesday. I'm going to have to brave it on my own since Chris can't make it. I'm 12 weeks and almost into my second trimester and barely eat anything. The morning sickness doesn't really help this at all. I'm going to have to see what the Doctor says. I've tried all the little tricks of crackers by the bed, don't get up too quickly and drink lot's of fluids but it's not getting any better. Plus it last's more then morning. Everyone tells me being pregnant is great. Well I haven't experienced the greatness yet. Maybe it comes in the second trimester. All I know is that I am thrilled we are having a child, but I wish the 9 months was up already!!!!

Someone isn't happy

Based on this picture I am guessing my Dad just told Bailey that her parents are expecting. She doesn't look so happy with that evil eye look she's giving.

We're Pregnant!!!

WOW is all I can really say. We found out the other day that Chris and I are going to have a little one running around. Looks like the new puppy Bailey won't be the only baby around anymore. I'm 7 weeks along so that means we will be due May 2009. Should be interesting since we move January 2009 overseas. I'm a little jealous that our child will have dual citzenship. Guess Chris and I can never do anything easy. We figured we would take on the overseas move and a child at the same time.

First News

Chris and I figured that since we live on the east coast and have family and friends everywhere this would be the perfect thing for us to keep everyone up to date.

As most of you know we will be moving in January to Sicily, where we will be for three years. We are really excited and nervous at the same time. Anyone who wants to come visit just let us know. I've never been overseas and Chris only has when the ships he's been on pull in for a port visit. So we are up for some traveling.

I will update more information soon. But please bear with me as this is all new to me.
